Glastonbury - 2007 documentary
for one split second i forgot how sometimes the best part of going to a major festival is the journey to get there.
there is nothing like the journey.............

Just saying...
i'm predicting now, and call me whatever you want, that No Doubt will be headlining one night of coacheezie.
i just watched an interview where the drummer states they are beginning to tour in "spring of 2009".
when is coachella? oh ya spring of 2009.
how many bands have done come backs at coachella? too many.
will i be singing "just a girl" at the top of my lungs? oh yes, fuck yes.

i have been eagerly anticipating this movie for months!!!! if you are unfamiliar with the life of harvey milk rent the documentary, The Times of Harvey Milk. which won best doc @ the oscars in 1984.

Best Album of the Year?
Department of Eagles - In Ear Park

i recently picked up this album from the wonderful Fingerprints Record shop in the LBC. the moment my ears began listening my body melted. Featuring members of the acid rock, lo-fi band Grizzly Bear, In Ear Park takes on an beautifully arranged journey. While listening to the developing strings and deep voices your mind is left to wander and create whimsical images of a snow capped new york city. Perfect for the cold months coming a head i promise you will get lost in this magic.

Swedish bands are Awessssome.
Marching Band - Spark Large

The latest album from these Swedish folk can be described as playful and whimsical. When i listen to it i think of holding a bright lollipop and skipping. oh yes, skipping. Then sitting under a tree and having a cold lemonade. Even though I can't stand lemonade. Marching Band makes me want one.
I'm going to check them out during their month long november residency @ Spaceland. are you?

In the vain of Flying Lotus
Burial - Untrue

After almost a year of listening to this album, it just gets better and better. Untrue plays out like a carefully crafted film. The beats he creates are one's you can slide right into. Enjoyable record for any of the following:
a. driving in rush hour traffic
b. relaxing with a glass of wine
c. background entertainment music for an uber cool party
d. cleaning from that uber cool party you hosted the night before
If you like Flying Lotus, this is a step beyond.

Currently Listening to ....
Flying Lotus - Los Angeles

It's a head trip. Sharp, curvy and rough around the ears while making you groove to a new beat.
highly recommended for those electronic fans that want something with a hard edged groove.
you can also check out pitchfork's review here.

Burn After Reading/Art Theatre
saw the movie. at the art in long beach. first time @ the brand new Art. i have to say its nice inside everything is clean. but i kinda miss the grungy old theater. i miss the bootleg looking concession stand with the awesome black dude who would make interesting convo as he gave you your popcorn.
but again, it was nice.
Burn After Reading was a great movie about some FREAKOIDS!
was Brad Pitt's character a flamer?
was George Clooney an absolute CREEP!!!?
YESSSSSSSS.
highly recommended for those who like great movies about weeeeeirdos. and i mean this as a compliment. i really do!

Paper Planes = Just annoying now.
Call me elitest. call me stuck up. call me whatever the fuck you want. but i just heard paper planes as someone's ring tone while at work. some burly middle aged man that six months ago would have been scared by the site of M.I.A.
a week ago i was driving down 2nd st from pch. i pulled up to some mercedes suv with another middle aged white dude bumpin it and nodding his head.
maybe these two men were M.I.A fans already... maybe Arular is in their top picks of favorite album of all time.
i guess the end of my rant is this...
WHAT'S UP WITH THE OLD WHITE DUDES AND M.I.A.?!
do you think they have a chance of hittin' dat?
muuuuaaaahhhhaahhhaaaaa.

Orange County Post 1 of many.
I live close to your border. I do not cross you unless absolutely necessary. I don't really like you. I'm prejudice against you. I've come to terms with that and I'm really okay with it. Honestly. I'll work through it someday and deal with you when I absolutely must but Orange County, I do not heart thee.
Oh, Yvonne!

so listen yvonne went clubbin' with us to [Drop It] this past saturday. Apparently we let her have one too many shots at the bar because when Rook and I went to check back on her, someone stole her friggin LEG!
Yvonne has been deeply depressed about her missing leg and is now resorting to unfortunate measures (shown below) if you would please contact us and hand it over, no questions asked, that would be amazing.
the only lead we have is a disgruntled lesbian who resides in the LBC. so basically that could be anyone down here.
MOCHI!!!! everyone has to have one.
You must find this show.
Kids meets 90210
shit. maybe that isn't the best way to describe it, what i do know is that this show is written brilliantly and it's worth your time to find it.
i promise you'll be hooked.
Well.. because why not?
I have officially created a blog! This is monumental and you don't even know it. I'll be posting my rants on basically whatever amuses me or tickles my behind. yes, i said behind.
woooohooo!!!
welcome to my brain bitches.
